3 Ways to Recharge Your LSL Journey
By Hearing First Team January 7, 2016
When our lives are so full of go-go-go, sometimes we need a little boost to keep the energy flowing. The beginning of this new year is a great time to #RechargeYourLSLJourney. Learn three ways to recharge and keep living LSL.
Recharge Your LSL Journey: Remember why you started on this journey: everything you’re doing now is helping your child reach their full potential. The best is yet to come.
Welcome to 2016! Did you enjoy looking back at all of your LSL accomplishments from last year? For many of us, it was a busy year full of go-go-go and very little whoa. Over time, that can be draining for anyone. Sometimes we’re so focused on the go-go-go that we forget to give ourselves that much-needed whoa – the time to breathe, reflect, and recharge. It’s especially important for families to take that moment on their LSL journey. It could mean the difference between going from Point A to Point B, or going from Point A, to C, to F, to E, to get to Point B. While sometime a circuitous route can’t be avoided, taking the time to recharge can give you the energy to power through challenging times to reach new milestones.
Each and every one of us experiences a point in our lives where our “batteries” are a little low. But we can’t ignore the signs to recharge! When you feel your best, you will do your best, and that will greatly affect your family’s progress on your LSL journey. There are a lot of steps taken each day when living the LSL life and fulfilling the LSL journey. We want you to be able to take those steps feeling confident, consistent, and energized. When you do, your child has a brighter future and every opportunity to reach their full potential.
2016 is a brand new year, which also means a fresh, brand new You. The beginning of this new year is a great time to #RechargeYourLSLJourney. Let’s feed the fire of your LSL life and get it roaring again.
You can recharge your LSL journey in three ways:
#1: Live Gratefully
#2: Live Out Loud
#3: Live for the Long Haul
Print all three graphics and place them around your house as daily reminders to Live Gratefully, Live Out Loud, and Live for the Long Haul. These “recharge reminders” can provide daily juice for your journey and remind you that you’re doing exactly what it takes to teach your child to listen and talk.
If you still need a little boost, reach out to your community of support. That’s what they’re there for! Sometimes a heart-to-heart with trusted support-givers is the little kickstart you need to recharge and power up your LSL journey. Your community of support may include many different types of people, from extended family to close friends to a faith community, but the people with the best perspective on recharging your LSL journey are the ones who have already been where you are. Get in touch with other LSL parents, who can speak your language, empathize with your feelings, and know what it’s like to walk in your shoes.
Most importantly, remember why you started on this journey. Everything you’re doing now is securing your child’s future and helping them reach their full potential. The best is yet to come.
We wish you a happy, healthy, and energetic new year!
